Electronic Storage
It’s understandable to be nervous or apprehensive when moving or storing electronics. Most electronic devices are fragile and require extra care when being moved or stored for prolonged periods of time. Here are some tips to keep in mind if you are planning to transport or store any electronics soon.

Pick the Right Storage Environment
Electronics are very sensitive to environmental factors such as temperature and humidity. Battery-powered electronics are especially prone to increase permanent wear when left in cold environments for prolonged periods. Make sure that your storage environment is not damp, that electronics are not in direct contact with a wet or moist surface, and that the storage unit is heated to some reasonable degree. Climate-controlled units are ideal.
Also, strive to ensure that the unit is sealed from drafts and possible external debris. This can help to minimize the amount of dust that could build up on and within your devices. Dust and electronics do not mix well!

Computers & Mobile Devices: Make A Backup
If you’re planning to store a computer or mobile device that contains personal information, make sure to have a clear backup of your data. Accidents and unwanted circumstances can happen, so it’s always smart to make sure a backup exists just in case.

Use the Original Packaging, If You Have It
When it comes to something like a new TV, computer, or phone, many people are quick to throw away the packaging. While this is a reasonable response, it is unfortunate for those who find a need to put their devices into storage, since this packaging is one of the most ideal. Original product packaging can provide your device with solid protection made specifically for it, and it costs no extra!
If you no longer have the original box for whatever you are looking to store, make sure to take these steps;

Cover screens and devices with dust-collecting products such as cotton, canvas, or cardboard.
Avoid using plastic, as this can promote moisture buildup.

Carefully Use Compressed Air Before Storing
Be sure to give your electronics a good cleaning. For items with screens, giving a good wipe down of the screen with a damp microfiber cloth and a dry microfiber cloth will have them looking good as new.
For larger devices with vent holes, it can be beneficial to use compressed air to blow out any dust. Do not use a vacuum to clean dust from an electronic device; vacuums can create static electricity which can be fatal for your device.

Insure Expensive Devices
As we have mentioned, accidents and unfortunate situations can happen. Insuring your expensive devices can provide peace of mind.
